Memories of the Fall

Painting started in a class with Zac Retz at Brainstorm. I'm really inspired by how the Postclassical Period Maya never really moved back into their cities following the civilization's collapse, but still visited old sites and remembered the golden age of their people. I wanted to reimagine that sort of narrative but remixed with some other influences I enjoy, so somewhere in that mush are robots and autumn colors!
